Fewer things bring me more joy than to hear a volunteer talk about the community they’ve found by serving. This weekend our media team highlighted the story of Eileen, a friend I’ve known since first coming to the Summit 12 years ago.
Eileen is one of our newer volunteers at our Downtown Durham Campus. She serves on the First Impressions Team there, and I can’t think of a better promo for stepping up and serving than how she says it…
We say often that we don’t ask you to serve because we need you to serve, but because you need to serve. If you’re a believer, you’re hard-wired for it, and you won’t be satisfied until you find your fit.
Want to join Eileen in serving? There are two ways you can make that happen:
1. Weekend Ministry Teams. Serve at your campus on a regular basis with Summit Kids, Summit Students, First Impressions, or Production. SummitRDU.com/serve. (Clicking the link doesn’t obligate you; it just points you to a training opportunity to find out more.)
2. Christmas at DPAC. Not sure if Summit Kids or First Impressions is the place for you? There’s no greater opportunity or lower risk than to give us one service at our upcoming Christmas at DPAC event. We’re looking for almost 1,400 volunteers, and you can be one of them. ChristmasAtDPAC.com.
