2025 Year in Review: Posts
Towards the end of each year, I recap some of my favorite posts and some of my favorite books of the previous twelve months. (The book list will come next week, just in time for you to disassociate from the obligatory New Year’s Eve party and curl up under your favorite reading lamp.)
But for today, here are ten posts that I particularly enjoyed working through and writing. (Whether you enjoy reading them is another story.) I present them here in reverse order of their original appearance:
10. Twenty-Five Years.
This was a recent post I wrote in honor of the quarter-century mark of my Mom’s passing.
9. Beware the Burden of the User-Friendly Experience
The quote in this post – from the book Leveling Your Church – still haunts me. “No wonder our churches are so self-centered.”
8. Church At the Dome
September 21, 2025 was one for the books around these parts.
7. North Carolina Squirrel Revival
Sometimes Guest Services doesn’t just serve guests.
6. Multi-Site: Guest Services and Launching a New Campus (part one)
This is actually the first of a three-part series, because bonus content, y’all.
5. If We Don’t Equip Them, Someone Else Will.
Another one that I wrote just as much to me as to anyone.
4. 6 Insights for Better Church Hospitality
Back in the spring, Lifeway Research released the results of a study on how churches welcome first-time guests. These were my thinking-out-loud thoughts.
3. Danny Recommends: First-Time Guest Tents & Supplies
I finally updated all of our supplies we use for our tent…including the tent itself. Please clap.
2. Introducing DIOCESE
Ah, the annual April Fool’s Day post.
1. Say Hey to Byrdie Rae.
2025 saw the addition of our fourth grandbaby. You can’t handle the cuteness.
