Mobile No More!
Last Sunday was one of the most anticipated (and joyous!) days in 20 years at the Summit.
Our North Durham Campus moved into a permanent facility after 17 years of being mobile, 17 years of being bumped from meeting place to meeting place, 17 years of unloading and reloading trailers Sunday after Sunday after Sunday.
I told some of our North Durham Campus leaders a few weeks ago that I’m not sure if I celebrate this for them or as us. As our original campus, North Durham sent a group of us out to plant another campus in 2007. Last year, Merriem and I finally made our way back. So while we haven’t been in the trenches nearly as long, it was nonetheless a thrilling, tearjerking day for so many of us.
At the Summit, we believe that buildings are simply tools to reach our community, whether they’re buildings we rent or buildings we build. That said, we’re pretty stinkin’ excited to finally be in this building. Celebrate with us!

Wow! How exciting! It stresses me just reading that you were having to set up Sunday after Sunday for 17YEARS!!!!
What a wonderful and amazing volunteer culture you must have! All the best in your new digs!
Heather, we have some long-suffering and faithful folks who will do whatever it takes to reach everybody with the gospel! Couldn’t be more proud of them and excited for them after a day like Sunday.
