Danny Recommends: Book Darts

Every so often we dip our toes into a series called Danny Recommends:, posts that tip you off to the stuff that I…you know. The recommendations might be products for use in your ministry, resources that will help you develop leaders around you, or just fun stuff that you need. Want. Whatever. I have a full list of recommended books and such over at the Reading List, but these posts will go into further detail. For other posts in the series, check out the link at the bottom.

A while back a friend of mine told me about Book Darts: one of those I-never-knew-I-needed-this products that once you have it, you don’t want to un-have it.

A Book Dart is a small, stainless steel bookmark that slides onto a page and just stays there until you’re ready to move it. I like to use them not as a placeholder from where I last left off reading, but as a quick-flip option for those books I tend to use again and again as the kickoff for a book discussion.

The aesthetics of the Book Darts matter, too. They’re much more visually pleasing than the Post-It Notes or flags that I’ve used in the past, and the small tin they come in is just a fancy little thing that completes the package.

And let me say something about that tin and Stellar Factory, the company that makes Book Darts. I originally ordered several sets to give to some leaders earlier this year. I bought them off of Amazon, because … well … Amazon. But when they arrived, Amazon had placed not one, but two product stickers on either side of the tin, ruining the look and making the gift look like it came from a clearance bin at the dollar store.

So I reached out to Matthew at Stellar Factory, who couldn’t have been more helpful. He sent an order off in the mail that day, followed up by an additional order a few weeks later that involved an incorrect shipping address (my fault, not his) and some heroics on Stellar Factory’s end to fix it. The direct-from-the-factory tins were just as beautiful as they were crafted to be, and I got a great customer service experience to boot.

(Also I should mention here that Stellar Factory creates some other stellar stuff from board games to playing cards, and while I haven’t bought those yet, they’re something to check out.)

If you’re looking for a simple upgrade to your reading experience, you’ll love Book Darts.

Order Book Darts.

Disclaimer: FTC watchdogs will probably want to know that the vendors listed / linked above did not ask for this endorsement, nor did they provide me with free swag in order to do so. I’m just a really satisfied fan who wants to let you know about helpful things. I only promote items that have benefitted me and that I believe will benefit you. So there.
