2021 Weekenders: Choose Your Own Adventure!
2020 took a toll on our Guest Services Weekenders, normally offered four times per year. As 2021 begins the slow crawl back to normal, we’re going fifth grade library book and offering a Choose Your Own Adventure plan.
Because of continued safety guidelines and modified service times at the Summit, we’re foregoing the normal Saturday options in order to align with current rhythms. You can choose Sunday (will allow you to sit in on an optional worship service) or Thursday (our training takes place during worship time, so no worship attendance option is available).

Here’s what makes a Weekender a great choice:
- Targeted and practical. At a Weekender, you’ll sit in on our Guest Services training and see how we equip our volunteers at the Summit. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at our teams in action. And you’ll have plenty of time to ask questions and get helpful answers.
- Designed for teams. If you’re on staff, bring a couple of volunteers. If you’re a volunteer, kidnap a staff member and toss ’em in the trunk. The process will be more beneficial if you have more eyes on it. And the discussions on the way home are much more fruitful (speak loudly so your staffer in the trunk can hear you).
- Affordable. Did we mention that all Guest Services Weekenders are absolutely free? You’ll take back copies of our curriculum and samples of our first-time guest process.
Reserve your spots now, because space is limited. Weekenders normally fill up quickly.
Hello, I wanted to bring some of my 1st impression leaders to the May 20th date but wanted to ask how to sign up and also why it states Worship Attendance: no? Thanks, Pastor Scott Terry
Scott, we’d love to have you! You can sign up here or at the link in the bottom of the post. “Worship attendance: no” simply means that there won’t be an opportunity to attend a full worship service. (Normally this option would be offered if you attend a Weekender on a Sunday.)
What is the typical schedule for this one day event? When does it start? End? Thanks!
Hi Adam!
For the Sunday events, the tentative time is 8:30 a.m. – 12 noon.
For the Thursday event, it’s 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Of course, these are subject to slight changes as we get closer to each event, but that’s the working time we’re planning towards now.
