Speaking & Training

One of my passions is to help other leaders, churches and organizations improve their guest services teams, volunteer culture, and connections strategies. Whether you’re just getting started or trying to tweak an existing structure, I’d love to help you!

On site at the Summit Church:

Let us host you at the Summit and help you craft the culture of hospitality. Here are a few of the experiences we offer:

  • Connections Confab. A coaching network designed for a small group of 10-15 leaders. The Confab takes place over the course of a semester and offers four one- or two-day sessions. Participants will take part in in-depth reading, discussion, coaching, and practical engagement on a variety of topics. More info.
  • One-Day Workshop. A full day seminar crafted for pastors, ministry leaders, and key volunteers. One-Days will dive deep on specific areas of ministry such as guest services, covenant membership, or volunteer development. More info.
  • Weekender. Sit in on a volunteer training or a newcomers event, get a behind the scenes tour of a Summit campus, and participate in a brief round table conversation on what you see and experience. More info
  • Comprehensive Staff Consulting. Learn from various members of the Summit staff team and see how our different ministry areas – Connections, Kids, missions, preaching, and more – work together to point people to Jesus. More info.

Here’s what other people are saying about our time together:

So, here’s the deal…there is absolutely no shortage of people who can fly in, navigate TSA and deliver a message. Some even have the skill set and giftedness to do it a way that keeps us awake the whole time. But very few can deliver an incredibly timely message in a compelling way while expressing it from a heart to see people who are far from God come close to him. That’s what our Host Ministry Team got while having Danny as our guest. We could get content anywhere, but Danny delivered more than that; he came and showed us how to be Jesus to guests, by being Jesus to us.
Mark Johnson, Campus Life Director, Oak Hills Church, San Antonio, Texas

Having Danny help our church with guest services redeemed the whole “seeker friendly” mindset for me. God used Danny and his unique spiritual gift of welcoming guests to transform that mindset for me through the lens of the Gospel. He helped our staff think of how we can most effectively show the Gospel in and around our facilities so that the lost can authentically hear the Gospel when they sit in the pews. God used him to promote a much needed paradigm shift in having a “seeker friendly” approach.
Dr. Matt Pearson, Campus and Teaching Pastor, The Church at West Franklin, Franklin, Tennessee

Danny’s engaging use of real-life illustrations, humor and field-tested wisdom was very well-received by our newest and most-veteran First Impressions Team members – as well as those curious about serving – at our FIT event. During a follow-up workshop with our Staff Team, Danny served as an insightful consultant, employing effective Q and A, interactive dialogue and close-to-home observations of our location – helping us come to grips with our situation and overall strategy. Our people and Staff Team continued to share what they learned from Danny long after he returned home. He accomplished the goal of raising the value of First Impressions ministry for both our volunteers and staff. We highly recommend him to any church.
Sean Allen, Connections Pastor, Warren Baptist Church, Augusta, Georgia

We invited Danny to speak at our Healthy Church Conference and we could not have been more pleased. He spoke on a level that everyone could understand, brought in appropriate humor to make the day fun, applied sound Biblical principles, and touched the hearts of his audience. Danny spoke to a room full of pastors and ministry leaders for an entire day on how to develop a First Impressions team in the local church. He dealt with topics like how to create a guest friendly environment, how to make guests stick, and how to move people from connected to committed. We have had more positive response to Danny’s presentations than any others. We will definitely be bringing Danny back and we would recommend him without reservation to any church group.
Randy Carter, Christian Life Ministries Director, Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church

Danny is a most capable speaker, motivator and trainer. We asked Danny to lead a training program for about 250 volunteers for our Thanksgiving RDU program. Danny made the program a success and immediately raised the profile of the program and communities’ perception of the outreach effort. I highly recommend Danny to anyone needing a gifted speaker who desires to honor God with his time and talents.
Joe Farrell, Chairman of the Board, Impact of Hope International
